"El Cadete"
Bobby Q · 2026
"The Cadet" is a refined anthropomorphic portrait that transposes the dolphin's charismatic nature to a setting of austere naval elegance. The artwork presents us with a unique fictional character: a young dolphin with a noble and intelligent gaze, dressed in an impeccable nautical cadet uniform, complete with a peaked cap bearing the anchor emblem and a classic deep blue sailor's neckerchief. Bobby Q masterfully plays with the visual irony of dressing an ocean creature in the attire of those who sail the seas, creating a piece that is both solemn and playful, brimming with personality.
